What is the amperage requirement on the Sport Trac Seats... I'm thinking 20+ amps ?

I am not sure the Cigarette Lighter has the wiring to cover that requirement, it may for a short burst, maybe a direct key controlled wire from the battery, fused at the battery and run through a relay.   I am not trying to put you down on this, please understand, just run the seats for a short time and check the wiring for how warm it is, the warmer the wire the more wrong the wiring is !

Like the white look on the new parts.
Bumper looks good, are you doing a white back one too ?
Don't forget the ToolBox would be different white to match the rest of the truck... not being funny, the idea popped in my head when I saw your picture with the Tool Box in it.   If mine wasn't already black... a red Tool Box might work in my truck, thinking on it !

What's your plans on Fog Lights... LEDs, Projectors, '06 OEM... actually I liked my '03 Fog Better than the LED Fogs I just bought... with the front bumper I have, I couldn't go OEM... too bad !

I'm going to use stock fog lights for the 08-11 ranger with led bulbs. The rear bumper will get painted white to match along with the fender flares. I didnt have enough gardner for the clear coat to paint that stuff.

Swapped out the tailgate for one that has the 2006-2011 emblems. The Ford emblem has black and gray American flag background

A dedicated fused power source controlled by a relay is the way to go.

Swap for the Rear End that used to belong to him !  LoL !

Good Luck on your parts hunt BUT I'm going back to the power seats, I would hate to see it all go up in smoke because of an underrated wiring job !

If the Cig Lighter wiring doesn't handle the Power Seat current draw you could have a fire... poof... Whitey will be up in small !
Just thinking out loud, most Power Seat Setups have 12 or even 10 gauge wire to the Seat Contorl Relays and I think there are usually more than one, one relay for each action of the seat !
Good Luck with that !

I ran a wire from the battery to the cig lighter since the lighter didnt work. Why I do not know fuse was good and had power at the fuse box it's a mystery. I tapped into the wire I ran from the battery to a fuse then down to the seat. Wire is plenty big enough. I ran an 8 gauge to the lighter and to the seat and I think 12 gauge on the ground that. Should be problem free

OK on the 8ga :O wire to the Cig Lighter... help me out here...

1)  What is the amperage draw of the seats ?

2) How did you ground the circuit ?

The only difference in the live axle swap I noticed was a decrease in gas mileage. Outside of that I'm happy with the results.

Swapped in an explorer dome light. Bought the tint for my door windows and got the flange for the exhaust so I can put my Gibson catback on.

black06xlt,

How does that Explorer Interior Light light up the cab of the Ranger ?
I have a standard cab and think it wouldnt take much tp light it up so just wondering.

How are the power seats coming along ? Keep an hand on the wiring once in a while... just to be safe.
