In my ex cab I have the BT mic mounted on the steering column in front of the emergency flasher switch.

Well it looks OK but not great. The short cab is getting an overhead console (headliner already cut) should I put the mic in the OHC? What positions have you put them in and what were the results?

The time is NOW since I have everything off currently :)

leave it loose, make several calls to someone away from the house and test mic locations. Possible locations without going out of your way to hide or flush mount it;

- top of the A-arm pillar
- near gauge cluster
- OHC area
- Near radio bezel (multiple opportunities here to keep the mic centered in the vehicle)
- anywhere across the top of the headliner from A-pillar to OHC

See what works best for your mic and phone.

I am using a Motorola, BT Speaker/MIc Combo, mounted on the drivers side visor, off center towards the center of the vehicle.

I have used it for about a year now and it works well in that position, if moving... the windows... closed make listening easier but most people can hear what I am saying. A mic mounted to the same position might work ok too, but as stated in another post, test, test, test, finds the best spot.

I always put the mic on the A pillar trim, drivers side, up near the sun visor...its a good spot seems to work great for bluetooth calling. Easy to hide the wire behind the A pillar trim and most times you can just clip the mic to the trim piece and tuck next to the headliner, no holes drilled or mounts to be fabricated

Decision made! I put it in the same place as my other truck... with a twist. I made it look better than a big patch on top of the column and a wire running down the back in to the dash.

Yes I checked clearances as I went along everything is peachy :)
