THATS low miles
The V8 drivetrain is worth $1500 minimum outside the truck
You see the early bronco guys are wise to us now, so finding a V8 drivetrain with under 100K is rare, finding a 96 GT40 is even more rare and no PATS computer (which freaks people out) is even better. You could probably pull the drivetrain and post it up for $1800 and find a buyer....
if somebody was so inclined. Otherwise I would keep that sucker forever and build it up! 96 is a GOOD year for the Explorer. I personally HATE the 98-01 tailgate, the 91-97 tailgate is much much more robust

I was going to change the head unit in the expo and I noticed theres no antenna cable due to the fact it's a power antenna. How would I go about hooking a new head unit up?

The eddie sound systems have the antenna going to the main amp unit behind the back seat.....and then to the head unit its a real PITA!!! I bypassed the factory amp system and added/cut spliced my own antennae wire in my old 96...allowed me to use the factory speaker wires to each door....

Good year . Exactly the year I used for my swap in my 94 . I paid 1100 ish from memory right now . But had 203k on mine one owner. Motor still runs strong at 240k+ . But soon it will be goin under the knife hopefully . May just buy another long block and build it to swap out while the rangers still running . If you don't sell it whole , hopefully it goes into your ranger ðŸ¼ðŸ» and the splash at that

bingo they are awesome daily drivers

and if it gets hit/rolled/smacked/crunched? well then donor!

Use MOOG's new sway bar links, I don't normally push Moog parts but their latest links are the best

Has anyone tried to run dual exhaust from the cat back on a v8 expo?

yes you can run duals
I would not
5.0L exhaust should be 2 into 1 muffler
dual 2.5" inlet single 3" outlet
run single 2.5" exhaust out the back over the axle
This makes the most torque
good for stock and modded V8 in 4 door explorer (4500#+ vehicle)
Dual pipes would need to be pretty small, plus that is alot of plumbing in an already crowded undercarriage

Yea I was looking at it I'm just going to run a single flowmaster. That looked to be the easiest

Back in the day the bonzi burnouts of Mustangs was because of true duel exhaust. The revs had to to be high to get the low E.T. times because there was no low end performance. Tri-Y headers with open pipes worked best at WOT and RPMs above 4500.

It was a time before back-pressure was understood.

Some engineers understood back-pressure but most of the public generally ignored it.

Nice!! I like Magnaflow
is it a 2 into 1? Or are you going to build a Y pipe?
The 99 Ranger V8 we just sold used a Y pipe and single in single out Flomaster...works pretty good! not as good as the 2 into 1, but you gotta work with what you have.
I built the Y pipe from autoparts store pieces, came out pretty good!
