Bought the truck October 2010 as a stock XL 2.3L 5 speed and this is it's evolution so far.  Started modding slowly by painting/changing wheels and adding edge hood and grill. Decided to lower the truck 3/5 djm components and explorer 4:10 8.8 and that lead to 5/ 5 then 7/8 drop (it was contagious). I wrecked the truck not bad but needed a front end. I had previously showed my buddy a pic of an explorer front swap and he said let's do (wasn't sure if he was joking or not but we rolled with it) and it was a lot of work but worth itAfter probably 10 sets of mustang wheels I ended up on Mach 1s forever. Swapped in explorer seats and console with custom shifter and boot. Then the 2.3 spun a bearing and the truck sat awhile. Having some time off between jobs and before a hot rod event I go to every year was the perfect time to swap a 302 in it.302 is stock bottom end with trick flow heads and cam Vic Jr intake and 650 demon carb. A fuel cell was put in with new lines and Holley blue pump. Backed by a t5.T5 broke swapped in a PA C4 and PTC convertor and recently rebuilt that

OK noticed the reversed headers, when you are done with pictures can you explain a little about this interesting feature?

As we all know header options for 98+ V8 swaps are limited and expensive, so I tried a few sets of foxbody headers with no success. Bumper exit/fender exits have become more "acceptable"so for less than $250 this was what I came up with to clear everything. Sounds good and actually isn't to loud going down the road.

Cool I'd never seen it done but it makes perfect sense.

I’ve got a 97 ranger I would like to do the same engine swap. I’m not familiar with cars and I’ve got a few friends who are with the tools to do the work I’m just seeking some initial guidance. Looking to start my own thread as well. An chance you could walk me thru some stuff?
