I have some basic looking flaps on my 2002, they do have black on black 'Ranger' lettering on the back flaps and i'd guess they were probably factory.

However, i just googled for them out of interest, and it seems there are quite a few available, moulded ones, Ford badged, everyone saying they're OEM.

Anyway, for whatever reason, it seems a few people don't like mud flaps, but i was curious about what is out there, types, fitment to different years/models - i saw the moulded ones didn't fit with fender flares?

Ah, that style and design with the lettering, that's exactly how mine look, but with "Ranger" instead of 'Mazda'

MaDMaXX,Those you have pictured at the top of your post are,Ford part,F87Z-16A550-CAA,which I'm thinking of buying.I think they are for non fender flare, rangers.I don't have fender flares so i think they will work. Also they say something like,2004-2007 rangers. What I want to know is,do this type need brackets or not ??I don't think they do,but i want to make sure, before ordering.I have mud flaps now, cheapy rubber ones,But the new ones might look much better.see ya,old retired guy:cheers:frd

Correct, for non fender flare only. I actually saw a Ranger at the weekend with them fitted (obviously sans flares) and they looked alright.

No they won't need brackets, they attach to the body.

@Mike: You're too funny. Good one!

@Patrick: There are no brackets. I don't have a good pic of the front ones, but they are very similar and attach the same way (the barbed fastener).

I ordered f87z-16a550-caa,on e-bay,thru,quirk auto parts.Around $51@ change.Tasca had them for $40 something,BUT they wanted $28 for shipping,I don't think so.The ones I'm getting are free shipping. They should be here the Jan.26.Don't know when,i'll put them on.Needing a oil change soon,my mechanic charges,$15 for that,i'llsee if he'll put the mud flaps on then.OH,I have my own oil and filter at that price.
see ya,old retired guy:cheers:frd

Sounds good Patrick! Funny, I thought all Rangers came with mud flaps as standard equipment. Now I will be looking at all the Rangers I see to find the ones WITHOUT the flaps! LOL

Well,my new mudflaps arrived,and I'm sending them back.Turns out,you do need brackets for the rear ones.And youhave to drill holes,where I don't want to drill holes,on the exteriorwhere you can see. So i'll be out $20-25 bucks,shipping.Oh well,story of my life,BAD DECISIONS,not just truck stuff,but life stuff.I guess thats life,when you're 1/2 Polish.LOL:giveup

Interesting. Now I need to have a closer look at mine, cause I didn't think there were any brackets. Yes, they use the barbed fasteners in the body panels. Sorry, thought you knew that.

YOU SHOULD be able to contact the vendor OR the original manufacture and explain the situation and get them to ship you a set of hardware.

And drilling holes isnt that big of a deal. You'd be amazed at just how many unprotected holes are in a vehicle to start with and if its just an OCD thing, get a small touch up bottle, self tapping screws/drilled holes. just need a small dab of paint on the inner hole, left to dry, back together, unless its an electrical ground then dont bother.

Even when I lived in Michigan, a leader in the Snow belt for vehicles that rust I cant recall anyone in 36 years afraid to drill a hole for the fear of rust or otherwise..  as meticulous as you are with your maintenance, It will be OK ;)
