That's a good lookin truck! You'll love the 2.3l, it's a great engine. For anyone saying it's slow as all get out, it's not really. It's still a 4 cylinder and still a truck, but it's got a little zip to it in the higher rpms. Welcome to F-R!

Thanks, not too concerned about speed or power, that's what my GTI is for :D. Mostly got it for winter use/daily driving to/from work and hauling stuff. It's a lot nicer now that it's detailed outside. Inside is my focus this weekend. Seats and door panels are trashed and the drivers side seat belt doesn't retract so I'm hitting the local salvage yards for replacements and upgrades hopefully.

Welcome...love your screen name.

I was just explaining to my wife the other day that I finally figured out why I was attracted to owning my old 93 Ranger.

After all, I've been tinkering on it non-stop since I bought it back in March of this year trying to get all the worn parts quirks out of it!

After a lot of thought it hit me and I explained it like this....

I said...these old Rangers are kinda like VW Bugs were back when I was in High School...they were   everywhere and parts were dirt cheap.  So back then they were a tinkerers dream!

Rangers now are like Bugs were then....they're are all over the craigslist ads and the junkyards are full of them.  Pretty much anything you need can be found dirt cheap.

Besides, its kind of addicting and fun treasure hunting, lol.

Thanks! Yea that's one of the things that attracted me to the Ranger is that, because of their popularity, parts are readily available and not too pricey.

Ron, welcome to F-R. I checked all over the internet & with LMC Truck & it seems no one makes a full floor piece for the Rangers just the patch panels.

hello, im Dave and im a rangerholic.... ha ha. im in my late 40s and live in central ohio. ive had a total of 5 rangers. my current truck is a 94 reg cab longbed, 2wd. at the time i bought it i was without wheels and only had 800 to get me something to drive. i found this poor "junkyard dog" on letgo online classifieds. the prevoius owner was just a kid, had very little knowledge of the truck. it was well worn and in really bad shape in many ways, i didnt even know the half of it until i got it home. but it would run and drive. i had many parts on hand, one big "part" being a 97 reg cab longbed that i had bought as a project, i only paid 500 for it but found out it was needing more than i wanted to put in it. i was goofing off in a field with it and rolled it on its roof one day. i took parts from the rolled truck and other parts i had on hand plus a trip or two to the boneyard for parts. the johnny cash song "one peice at a time" came to mind and when i ended up making two diffrent color body sections be a custom two-tone paint scheme, i figured id go "70s style" with this. check out my flickr alblum in the signature for all the details and changes. im not done yet, the latest thing ive done is move the ranger badge from the fender up front to the rear bed side, and on the front fender ive made this a "R-140" model. i just added a set of 1976 full wheel covers to my winter wheels. summer rims are 15" deer paws from my 93 4x4 i once owned. i swapped out the stock 3.45 rear axle for a 98 4.10 so i can tow, the 2.3 has a new head on it and fuel injectors from a 302 V8. transmission is stock but with a hurst shifter. my next thing to do is continue the silver on the cab along the top of the doors and along the front fender, ending in a point. (like the starsky and hutch torino) ive had this ranger 2 years now, its becoming a favorite. (i dont know why the picture posted sideways)

the "R-140" is my own made-up model designation, since this was turning into a 70's tribute truck and i had moved the ranger nameplate to the back upper bedside, i needed something on the front fender where the ranger emblem had been. the 74-76 full size trucks had whatever they were there, such as "F-150". i figured id go with "R" for ranger, and 140 for engine displacement. (2.3/140 c.i.d.) plus 140 is a little less than 150 and its not quite a 1/2 ton truck. i thought about "R-50" but dodge used that once upon a time with there D-50 model compact trucks ( that were really made by mitsubishi ) just call it my own personal customazation. its certianally one of a kind.

OK on that !
Everyone has a reason for their naming things.

Never did it except for one vehicle, and that's another story.

Okay I don’t use forums much I just wanted to make sure I had it right. I don’t actually have a ranger I have a bronco instead but I’ve been heavily modifying it for the last 6 years and I’m almost finished but I’m down to the transfer case controller I got the idea for using the transfer case I chose buy visiting your site. I hope this doesn’t get me booted off being a bronco guy.

We have at least 1 member here that loves his B2, welcome to F-R!

We have more than one TC control guru here and the rest of us know a "little" :)

I'd post it in the electrical, drive train or general section. We will find it wherever you put it :)

Hello everybody, BGHawk here. Yes I am a Seahawks fan from the great NW. Bought a 2003 Ford ranger level 2 w/5 speed and all the level2 goodies. I love the truck and love checking out all the rangers on here and around town. Look forward to grazing the FR forum. Yes, I do want some of the cool FR decals I have seen on the site. Have a great day
