Starting my search for a solid rust free 6' Styleside bed for my 2002. Color doesn't matter too much but priority would be given to an Oxford White one. Bonus points if it has the factory fender flare holes. I'm looking in the Pittsburgh, PA/Wheeling, WV/Morgantown, WV area but will travel a little further for the right deal.

The earlier Year of the Stepside Bed, (1997 back) they don't have a hole in the rear to allow for the spare tire crank... for carrier lift !
If you can get one for a 1998 or newer, even stick to 2001 up if possible.
Not that you can cut a hole but it is one more think to do.

If I ever need to replace the bed on my ranger I'll be getting a mazda bed. I like the STX look. I think it's more aggressive looking

I was trying to stay under $500. The ones I had found that were southern beds are going for $800+. I did located an Oxford White bed with the fender flare holes off of a 2004 for $400 at a salvage yard yesterday. They are claiming it is solid & rust free. Based off of the pictures, it needs cleaned up bad. There is one minor dent on the back right above where the bumper would be. The guy I spoke with yesterday is supposed to be talking with his boss today about a potential trade deal - my bed + cash. The sides of my bed are in excellent condition... its just the front floor and front bulkhead that are toast. I figured if they could sell the sides for a little extra cash, it would be a win - win for both of us.

Just remember the Bed year in reference to the Spare Tire Mechanism !
I didn't know there was a difference and I should have modified my bed before installing but didn't.   Now I have my spare in my bed because I don't want to cut a hole.
You did say you were interested in a Steppie Bed ?
I think the Bed Prices are going up, so I would find something as fast as possible, and stay close to home, shipping charges for something that large can mount up fast.  If you ship it, have take the side off and ship them in the bed, it makes the package smaller. a little less cost.  They can use the Bed Mounting Holes to secure the side in the bed.
Hows the rear frame project going ?

I was looking for the same bed I got now, not a step side. But I think I have an idea for a quick fix to hold me over for 6-12 months. For a completely rust free bed I'm looking at $800-$1,200 plus paint.. I may go a different route later on. I have an idea I'm tossing around in my head for when I cross that bridge.

I ordered parts today and will have them here mid next week so I can start tearing my truck apart again for the weekend lol.

I thought you had mentioned a Stepside.

OK, so that at least there are more of them out there only thing is is seems the Styleside Bed rot easier.

Good Luck on your search, there has to be one out there that fits your needs.
