Is the rear wiper switch in the upper right of a expo directly replaceable with a power outlet without modding the hole? Not that I can't mod the hole just wondering.

No & yes. When I installed the Explorer radio trim panel in my Ranger I installed the power port in place of the wiper switch & there is a recess in the hole that I had to trim to get the power port to fit in the trim panel, but the power port is small enough to fit the actual hole without modding the face of the trim panel. The part that needs to be modded is not visible once the power port is installed.

Hmm what to do with that rainbow shaped area over it.

Thanks Mike.

I needed a bezel to go with my 06+ heated mirror build; I can attest to bondo + primer + wet sanding working wonders on that hole. Probably the bigger question today is, what better use can be made of the (useless) cig lighter and power point holes. Dual USB charger, if a reliable unit exists and one that doesn't stay on when not in use comes to mind.

As luck would have it they are even more useless in my situation since I added designated charging outlets.

Thanks Mike.

You are welcome Jim. I took the piece out that has the rear wiper markings on it & sanded the markings off & epoxied it back in & then painted the trim panel semi gloss black.

I have a cure for worrying about what to do with the holes...

Do away with all of the holes !

Now to find mounting locations for the power ports and4x Switches, LoL !

With minor modding, I've turned a lot of the rear wiper switch areas into cig outlets. I always fill in the insert above the button & smooth it out, but if you don't want to go to all that trouble, you can pop it out, sand & paint it to blend in a little better.

I still like using the cig sockets but I pop in one of those inexpensive usb chargers that set almost flush with the port. The cig sockets hold onto whatever you plug in much better than the 12v sockets.
