A lot of bearing wear is the quality of bearing that was used. My last brake job I installed new rotors and I used a all-in-one kit that had Bendix rotors, EBC Greenstuff set of pads, and chinese bearings. I have about 30k on the brakes and I have re-tightened the bearings once and could probably do it again. I will be doing another brake job to replace the bearings before the pads are wore down.
