The last 99 Explorer Sport we had we ran to 285K miles before we sold it. We had purchased it new & I did all the service on it. It had the 4.0 SOHC in it. When the chains started to rattle about 150K miles on startup before starting it I would step down on the gas pedal to the floor & hold it & crank the engine to get oil pressure then start it normally & the chains would not rattle.
