I have not tackled a 5.0 swap but what I have picked up from those that have you will need to make the Ranger into the donner vehicle. This means converting the existing wiring harness into the wiring harness of the the donner vehicle to include the fuel rail and PATS.

I have an 04 2wd w. 3.0L Auto that I will drive until the engine or transmission fails. I have been on the the lookout for a 5.0 Explorer/Mountaineer for a future swap. If possible I will also be doing a 2wd to 4wd conversion along with the V8 conversion.
