Happy Haloween!! Joe here is the type of fitting you need for that intake connection at the EVAP line ![]() Getting serious now, yesterday I picked up the rear axle with all its guts in place, also a 10' stick of 2.5"Â exhaust tubing. The rear driveshaft was final welded and is getting painted today So this weekend I will be setting up the 31 spline 8.8 for Ranger use with its new spring perches and shock mounts Bend up some exhaust tubing to fit Finish pats install add fluids turn the key But first the fan and shroud as well as airbox have been installed Lets compare the explorer 5.0 airbox to the 2000 Ranger v6 box......very similar ![]() You can see the v8 box has a larger air inlet and mas The v8 box also has longer mounting studs, 1" longer to be exact so we must modify the Rangers bottom mounting plate to accept the v8 box ![]() Ranger mounting studs = 3/4" depth: ![]() v8 box 1-3/4" depth ![]() So we need to move the mounting plate out 1" ![]() I clean the area, mark 1" out, drill some small holes and use roofing screws to secure it ![]() Now the v8 box fits like stock ![]() time to clean the MAS sensor, remove sensor, clean "hot wires" with carb cleaner, let dry and re install ![]() Airbox and intake tube installed, fan and fan shroud installed. This is a new radiator, new fan, new fan clutch and new fan shroud, all for a v8 explorer ![]() ![]()
