I will be installing the TMH to the engine, and then the engine is going in today.....
So I will get some more pics showing the differences between the two sets of headers when actually bolted TO an engine

You might be able to weld that connection, but I do not see the need.
With a good gasket and good bolts it is not something that comes loose.

However I do like this new set with a complete header flange instead of one port hanging out in space.
Your old FMS headers you could indeed auction off and come close to some TMH, likely get $350-400 for those old manifolds.
When I first started doing this you could still buy the FMS manifolds.....man oh man if we knew better I would have a back lot full of early broncos and explorer 5.0's just collecting value :)

Finished up rear drum brake project on a neighbors 1979 F250...... 40 year old drum brakes and they looked like it. Anywho this allowed me to finally turn my full attention to my Ranger projects.
That's right, summer is done! House addition is "dried in" (that means it has a roof on it) and no more customer trucks are here! Except for this 2000 and Magoo's 07.
I am now V8 Ranger builder guy for the rest of fall and winter!

Truck was prepped for an engine bay wash.
Old v6 engine mounts were removed, the engine bay was wetted, the applied two cans of degreaser, let it take hold and then much time was spent with the power washer.
Truck was then pulled back into the bay with my handy dandy 2000# wall mounted HF winch
Let dry, then the engine bay was dressed with silicon spray to bring back the black, dried some more and then a final wipe down. The nice part about this was my wife has been hanging out in the shop more and more so she was my extra set of eyes. I love it when wifey comes out to play! So did the shop dogs.......

She's outside! knock the dust off

Usually there are about 12 more fords in the background, they have all been fixed and sent home!

Engine bay BEFORE, notice all orifices' are plugged

301K of nastyness collected

wet and degreaser applied liberally

let soak, chassis de greased also (bio degradable). She sits up pretty tall with no drivetrain and a superlift

The stuff you find in an engine bay after 301K miles

Ready to pull her back in, no need to wait for help or get out the tractor

Dogs came to see if mommy would throw the stick, puppy "Ace" in background is 6 months now, "Ranger" is shop veteran at 5 years old

Yes that is a bubble of drool in anticipation of the stick being tossed

Ace is never allowed to actually get the stick, so she does the next best thing and just carries around her own

After power washing and silicon dressing

Now that is a clean slate, much easier for me to work on and we have removed 300K miles of gunk

Now to bring the 306 around front, run to town to get my Mr gasket header gaskets and then we prep the block for install

Our owner here is quite thorough, as I unpacked the rear of the Ranger I was reminded of all the good parts I was left with for this conversion.
OCD much? He even installed anti seize on the threads of the new fan clutch in case I didn't know better..... you will see his OCD shine through on this build, like masking tape first and then duct tape to seal the engine.... this is a true "car guy" somebody who knows what a PITA it is to remove duct tape goo from mating surfaces

New v8 mounts

OCD much?

I do not mind! Usually I have to run all around and get all of these parts, our owner here was planning this conversion out for some time, was planning to do it himself and was well prepared

Just some of the top notch parts I have been provided with, as I finally unpacked the back of the truck I found all of the goodies needed

Stay tuned
