Parts in modern vehicles are sourced from all over the world, there is not one automaker that does not use parts from China, India, Mexico anymore.... its a global marketplace
So you could have gotten the same tank from anywhere else.
I would have returned it and not take NO for an answer.......it was defective right out of the box = they will take it back if you bitch hard enough
I have parts, I also go to junk yards, I am sure other members here would be willing to help you find OEM parts when needed. My stepson ALWAYS has rangers to part out, I usually have explorers to part out and only buy rangers clean enough to re sale.
