A few things (like the headers) came to mind after I hit 'post'.

After sleeping on it, for now I'm going to stick with that camshaft you mentioned, TM headers, perhaps a bigger throttle body, and a tune. I might stroke it at a later date. I have to remember that my funds are not infinite. Still an expo donor motor as before.

I realized that if I did go with an older motor (perhaps carbuerated depending on what I can get a hold of) is unlike the explorer where I can repin a couple connectors and make it all work together, suddenly nothing works together and I'd have to reengineer a whole lot more than I was anticipating, perhaps getting to the point where aftermarket mechanical gauges and a full rewire becomes necessary. I believe something *that* extensive is beyond what I am capable of. Certainly beyond my patience level.

But, back to reality for a moment. One thing that does concern me, if I were to go 347, is if anything behind it would still handle it. Namely the trans and rear diff. Since I'm also 4x4 and intend to stay that way, that transfercase would also need to handle that extra power, and therefor the front diff.

If they aren't beefy enough to handle that, well there went the budget. Not only that, but we all know how light the Ranger is in the rear end, and how difficult getting traction can be with these. Although my 8.8 is heavier than the 7.5, and I can install traction bars to help the issue, at some point that motor will be putting out enough HP that getting the traction needed to start moving will be a challenge.

But, I digress. Today I'm going to try to make some things happen. Finally finish out the 8.8 assembly so it's ready to get under the vehicle, then get that bed off and out of the way so I can get to those bushings. If that doesn't take too long, I plan on getting as many bushings replaced in a day as I can.

I also plan on seeing if that expo glass fits in my Ranger power 06 mirrors. If they don't, well I guess I'm buying those Muth mirror glass assemblies. Which, I did email them and confirmed that they *are* heated.

How much will actually happen? How much will actually work? Stay tuned to find out.
