Here's the 351W slightly disassembled, just going through a check-up after being in the 86F250 for last years bog season. It's going to get all new bearings, cylinders honed, and rings. This was spurred by the carb getting stuck wide open (Damn Holley) and dumping about a few extra quarts into the oil pan. Luckily it got shut down before too much more beating, so nothing really got trashed. It is my first time breaking into this engine, I was told it was a complete virgin with 120K on it. Inspection reveals the pistons are .040†over. I believe this was typical for a ford reman, someone may be more knowledgeable on this than I am. I am considering doing a cam, but haven't decided what to go with, anyone has recommendations I'm open to it, I'm definitely more of a sbc guy than ford guy, despite what my yard full of fords says lol And I'll probably be doing some sweet pie cut Tig'd up stainless headers for it.
