There is also the use of an aftermarket Three-Wire Harness and an earlier Computer, say a Mustang Setup; then there is no PATS ! Also, using an older model 5.0 Manual Trans Computer allows you to select different transmissions, than something the computer wants to see ! My '88 5.0L Swap, used a '93 Computer from a manual trans Mustang, I ended up with a C4 Auto but could have selected a number of different transmissions. Just a different point of view and IF you intend to get this vehicle Inspected... then there is another set of rules to go by !
