Sprag is a one way clutch also called a torque diode. Imagine a bicycle. If you pedal you go, but if you stop pedaling you keep going but the pedals don't have to move. They act like a ratchet that is what a sprag does. The low sprag only holds in 1st gear. All other gears it is overrunning (freewheeling). So mechanically that is probably the most likely culprit. It is a known failure part. The sprag is shown here at this point in the video (notice how much teardown is required to get to it, it's one of the last pieces to come out) Last edited on Fri Aug 17th, 2018 12:26 am by sheltonfilms ____________________ 2000 XLT 2.5L A/T 2WD Mods: Power Windows/Locks Mirrors using OEM harness and parts Explorer Sportrac White Face Cluster Explorer OHC and Auto-dim Mirror Auto Door Locks Full HID Projector Retrofit |
