Been needing to get this started for like 5 years now. I couldn't take the crappy, cracked, peeling, fading paint any more.
Pulled out the random orbit sanders & 60g up to 220g sandpaper & went crazy.
It's still a long way from being finished, but so far it looks worlds better.
I've had the fender flares in the garage forever & they have several coats of bedliner sprayed on them & they look sweet. I still need to re-install the inner fender wells along with the flares, but i have to build some new mounting bolt mechanisms for the flares.
Also need to sand & polish the crap off the headlights... finish up the new raptor grille... led mod the turn signals... decide what i want to do with the toolbox & bed rails, either polish everything or sandblast & spray on bedliner.
I probably need to silicone up the quarter windows too... noticed they're not quite as tight as in years past & i want to keep everything inside dry.

nice! Maybe skip sanding the factory headlights, they lose their UV coating and you will be sanding them again very soon. Ranger headlights are pretty cheap new online!

Looks great keep up the good work, I love that color

this set of headlights are ebay specials... the oem lights looked about the same a few years ago. i might try polishing these ebay lights first. no biggie though, i've only put on about 50 miles in the last few years, all daytime driving.

Look'n GOOD my man; that was labor intensive, I'm tired just thinking about it !

You probably know but make sure to get a top coat on it before the moisture gets in the primer and rusting starts under it, then it will be more sanding to get it back to where it is !

The Flat Black Look, looks great, there are some great flat colors out there now, not like when we only had Flat Black !

I have been thinking about doing a Flat Black Hood, something alongs the lines of the latest BMW Flat Black, except cheaper $$$ !

Keep up the good work !

Thanks for sharing; what new LEDs are going on the Truck ?

Have you ever thought of converting the Backup Lights to Directionals and adding new Backup Lights ? (I always believed in the separate Directional Lights !

Just need a carbon-primer hood and tailgate!

And Scrambler, be better to just clean and clay bar the hood and wrap it in flat black than paint it.. should it get old or not as trendy, you can pull it off and refresh it with new if need be or go back to stock paint without the headaches or cost factors.

I need to Clay Bar the TRUCK, not just the Hood !
The idea of a wrap never came to mind, good idea, any ideas on the cost involved ?

Well, lol the reason I say clay bar it is because it pulls all of the lil things that regular or even scrubbing when you wash it doesn't get off plus a wee bit if the oxidation too ; some colors more than others i.g. red over a black or darker color.

Typically, depending on material, who you talk to or know, and their ability working with you and a budget. Cost of materials can obviously vary with quality of course but.. expect to pay anywhere from $180-300. Anything more than that, they're either over confident in their ability to sell rationally or they're just try to clobber you over the head cause they think they can.

You would expect about the same or more for clean paint laid.,, and then or if you get sick of it at some point. Well.. you aren't going to peel off paint like a sticker in your drive.
